Deal Island - Helen Elaine Jones, 66, of Deal Island, passed away on November 10, 2021at her home surrounded by her family. Born on Sept. 5th, 1955, she was the daughter of Julia Alverda Hoffman and the late Woodrow Hoffman.
Helen had a successful career working for the Maryland Dept. of Corrections for almost 30 years. Prior to working for ECI, she had worked many years for Bountiful Ridge Nursery in Princess Anne, as well as for Bloxom and Jones Dentistry in Salisbury as a dental assistant. Helen was quite the athlete growing up- she played field hockey, softball, and whatever sport she could get her hands into. Later on, she joined volleyball and bowling leagues. She loved helping out in her community, and she helped the Ladies Auxiliary on numerous occasions with their pizza dinner nights. She loved to go fishing in her free time, and she also was quite the gamer. She loved hosting game nights at her house, playing cards with her friends and family (especially after Sunday dinner), and she had a special love for the game of Boggle- which she played with her daughter and her best friend/"Sister" - the late Joyce White.
Helen was a devoted Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, and Friend, and she was extremely excited about becoming a Grandmother next year. She loved her family and her friends dearly, and she cherished spending time with them. She also loved her dogs- especially her current one, Bella.
Helen is survived by her husband of 26 years, Kevin Jones; her daughter, Erin Evans; her Son, Ryan Evans (Stephanie); her Brothers, Albert Hoffman (Ginny) and Winston Hoffman (Sharon); her Sisters, Dianne Pizzaia and Julia Webster (Mark); and several nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her Father, Woodrow Wilson Hoffman; her paternal Grandparents- Stanley and Helen Hoffman; her maternal Grandparents, Leon and Julia Webster; her Brother-in-Law, Victor Pizzaia as well as her Best Friend/"Sister" Joyce White.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sat Nov. 13th, 2021 at St. Paul's Church in Wenona where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery.
