Obituary

Hattie Lee McIntyre, 99, of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin in Princess Anne, Md.
Born in Mt. Vernon on April 3, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Risdon and Dora Wilson Jones. She worked alongside her late husband, Ross J. McIntyre, Sr. (1990) on the family farm. Together, they owned and operated The Harbor Club in Mt. Vernon. She was the bookkeeper for their businesses. Hattie was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, charter member of the Mt. Vernon Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, Upper Somerset County Chapter of the AARP, Maryland Farm Bureau, and had also been a member of the Princess Anne Lions Club.
Hattie is survived by her two sons, Ross J. McIntyre, Jr. of Mt. Vernon, Michael and his wife Cindy, also of Mt. Vernon, grandchildren Leigh Ann Baker (Jeff Noble), Wendy Sue McIntyre (Curtis Pittman) and Sean McIntyre, great grandchildren Christopher Baker (Nicole) and Makenzie McIntyre, as well as daughter in law Elizabeth Ann McIntyre, special friends Delores and Irving Blair and adopted niece, Betty Harmon.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Wilson Jones and his wife Virginia.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Aurora Senior Living of Manokin for the care Hattie received during her stay.
A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A., 11673 Somerset Ave., Princess Anne, Md. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Reverend William Knicely will officiate and interment will be in Asbury United Methodist Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
