Harry Hall was born the youngest of five children in Oriole, MD, on October 5, 1945. After graduating from Washington High, he served on the USS Austin during a six year stint with the Navy.
Harry loved his job as a courier with the State Dept. because it let him live and travel around the globe, including Guyana, Portugal, England, Thailand, and much of Africa. Over the years, he also lived all over the States, though his heart remained with his family and roots on the Eastern Shore.
Though quiet and reserved, Harry was known for his sharp wit and kind and generous nature. He enjoyed gardening, reading and keeping up with friends and family scattered around the world. A history buff, he traced the Hall family origins back many generations to Wales.
Harry was especially grateful for the outstanding care he received from Coastal Hospice during the last few months leading to his death on November 30, after a multi-year battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Sr. and Marion, and his siblings, Russell, Jr., Howard and Ruby. Harry is survived by his sister Marian; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation will be held at Hinman Funeral Home, Princess Anne on Thursday, Dec. 9, from 1-2 p.m. followed by a service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Peter's Church, c/o Vicky Laird, 28179 Venton Rd. Princess Anne, MD 21853.
