Obituary

Gretna Ream Willis, 76, of Marion Station passed to her heavenlyhome on August 8, 2015 after a protracted battle with cancer. Born April 3rd 1939, she was the daughter of the late Hiram and Sarah Johnson Ream and is survived by her husband Richard Willis. She grew up on the family farm in Marion Station until she left for college. After finishing college and getting married, she started teaching and eventually moved to NC and Texas before returning back to the family farm in 1980 where she resided till her death.
Gretna was a much loved Lady who lived for God, family, her grandchildren and her beautiful flower gardens. She enjoyed many strong friendships over the years and had a special love for children. It was important to Gretna to make a difference for children. She obtained a B.S. and Master's degrees in Education and Administration and spent 28 years excelling in the educational system where she taught and inspired children in PA, NC, TX, and MD. She retired as Supervisor of Secondary Education in 2002 to take on our most beloved role as Nana to her grandchildren. She left her mark on many lives over the years and will live on here in the lives of those whom she touched. While she has moved on to a better place, she will be sorely missed and leaves a void in our lives.
Along with her husband, Richard (Dick) Willis, Gretna is survived by her children, Richard Willis, Clark Willis and Krista Holt and their spouses Denise (Clark) and Chris (Krista). She has 9 grandchildren; Rachael, Laura, and David from Richard and Elaine, Jessica, Madison, Noah, Abigail and Sam from Clark and Denise and William from Krista and Chris. She is also survived by her close sister Gerri and her husband Donald Brittingham.
Besides her parents, She was preceded in death by her sister, Alita Ruark, her foster brother, Harry Webster, and a nephew, Merle Brittingham.
