Gladys C. "Tootsie" Bedsworth, 84, of Dames Quarter passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Dames Quarter, MD, on December 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Gladys Catherine Bozman. "Tootsie" Attended the Deal Island School, was employed as a seamstress at the Manhattan Shirt Factory and Gant Shirt Factory. She retired to spend many years traveling with her husband Henry. She treasured spending time with her family and friends, especially her domino companions. "Tootsie" never met a stranger and always had a smile for those she came in contact with.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Gregory L. Bedsworth and his wife Donna, of Delmar, Del., and Terrie Wallace and her husband Barry of Salisbury, two granddaughters, Heather Adkins (David) and Heidi Payne ( Woody), three great grandchildren, Jade Payne, Summer Payne, and Luke Hackett. Also surviving are her sister Nancy Force and her dearest friend, Ruth McInturff and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband of 65 years, William Henry Bedsworth, her siblings, Elizabeth Fleming, Dorothy Bozman, Edwin Bozman, and Irene Reid.
A Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Hinman Funeral Home, in Princess Anne, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in the St. Peter's United Methodist Cemetery in Oriole. Rev. David Webster will officiate.
