Obituary

Princess Anne- George Woodland Barnes, Jr. (Woody) 71, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at his home.
He was born on August 25, 1945 to the late George "Scoot" and Helen Dryden Barnes. He served in the Army National Guard with the 82nd Airborne. Woody was a lifetime farmer and a Somerset County school bus driver for 28 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was also a member of the Somerset Ruritan, the Somerset County Farm Bureau and St. Peter's U. M. Church.
Woody is survived by his wife Debbie, sharing 49 years of marriage, sons Woody and wife Ellen Barnes and Billy Barnes both of Princess Anne, granddaughters Grace, Sarah and Paige, brother Wayne and wife Terri, sister in laws, Diane Beauchamp, Ellen Dorsey (Robert), Leah Webster and Libby Parks, nephews/nieces Mandi and Megan, Bobby and Tommy, Stephanie, Kenny and Bruce, Jamie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother in laws, Buster Parks and Bruce Webster.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Friends may call on Friday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. and again one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Pastor David Webster will officiate. Interment will be at St. Peter's U. M. Cemetery in Oriole.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to St. Peter's U. M. Church, c/o Vicki Laird, 28179 Venton Rd. Princess Anne, MD 21853 or to the ALS Clinic of Salisbury at PRMC Foundation, ALS Clinic, 100 East Carroll St. Salisbury, MD 21801.
