Princess Anne – George Robert Dryden, 72, of here passed away peacefully on December 7, 2018 at Coastal Hospice by The Lake in Salisbury, Md.
Born August 3, 1946 in Salisbury, he was the son of the late George W. Dryden and Grace (Johnson) Figgs.
He graduated from Delmar High school and joined the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam. Robert was an electrician, working for Rommel Electric for 28 years and later retired from IBEW Local 24. He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church, O.T. Beauchamp Post 94, and Taylor Hunting Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Robyn Benton (2017), Sister Pam Purnell and stepfather Charles Figgs.
Robert is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mattie W. Dryden of Princess Anne, son Bobby Dryden and his wife Karen of Martinsburg, WV, son in law Stevie Benton of Chance, grandchildren Tyler and Blake Dryden of WV, and Kayla and Kylie Benton of Chance, sisters Jane Brown of Easton, MD, Carnita Powell (Rob) of Mt. Joy, PA and Maria Brittingham (Dean) of Willards, MD.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. 11673 Somerset Ave. in Princess Anne, Md. where friends may call from 12:30-2. Rev. James Doran will officiate and interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery.
