Obituary

George R. "Cotton" Briddell, Sr., 82, of Salisbury, died Monday, April 19, 2010 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born in Princess Anne, he was a son of the late Paul and Annie Briddell.

After serving in the U.S. Navy, he owned and operated his own upholstery/refinishing business for over 50 years. He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Salisbury and O. T. Beauchamp Post # 94 of the American Legion in Princess Anne.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jane Briddell; his daughter, Ruth Ann Briddell and Norman Butch Shores a son, Bob Briddell and Sue Sparks; daughter, Linda B. Weber and husband, Bill, all of Salisbury; five grandchildren, Julie, Josh, Chris, Robbie,and Katie,: and four great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Will, Natalie and Cameron. He is also survived by four brothers, Paul Briddell, Bill Briddell, Norman Briddell and Ed Briddell, all of Salisbury and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Thelma Briddell and Millie Garber and a brother, James Briddell.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2pm at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where friends may call Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 pm and on Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Rev. Rob Townsend will be officiating. Interment will be held in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
