Princess Anne - Gary C. "Duke" Benson of Palmetto Church Road, Princess Anne, died December 24, 2022, at Manokin Manor rehabilitation center after a brief illness. He was 72 years old.
Gary was the youngest son of the late George B. and Jean C. Benson of Princess Anne. He is survived by his two brothers, William C. Benson of Princess Anne and James N. Benson of Longmont, Colorado; two nieces and two nephews; and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He had been under the care of Somerset Community Services of Marion Station since late 2003. The family wishes to add special thanks to caregiver Nate Stacier.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, at Hinman Funeral Home, 11673 Somerset Avenue, Princess Anne. Visitation begins at 12 noon followed by the service at 1 pm. Dukewill be laid to rest next to his parents at Beechwood Cemetery, Princess Anne.
