Eden – Frederick R. Lawson, Sr. 77 of here, formerly of Lexington, Virginia died on Friday, March 26, 2021 at his residence.
Born on September 28, 1943, he was the son of Sylvia L. Sutphin and the late Samuel Lawson.
Mr. Lawson was a truck driver. He was a life member of Tony Tank Tribe #149, Redmens in Fruitland and the Salisbury Moose Lodge # 654.
Mr. Lawson is survived by three children, his son, Frederick R. "Ric" Lawson, Jr. and his wife Tammy of Eden, his daughter Tracye Crist of Boise, Idaho and son James Lawson and his wife Cathy of Hebron, stepchildren Dennis Roberts of Buena Vista, VA, Debbie Bauer of Clarksville, TN, Alfred Roberts, Jr. of West Virginia, and ex-wives Lois Dalton and Norville Merritt.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Mandy Kalb and husband Matt, Candice Crist, Melissa Lively and husband Joey, Cody Lawson, Alex Lawson, Amelia Clark and her fiance' James Bane, Anthony Clark, and Leeanna Collier and husband Brad, 16 great-grandchildren, Sister Brenda Stoner and husband Randy, and brother in law Ned Bradford as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his best friends, Tommy and Jo Ann Chittum, and Clarence and Bonnie Hicks.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by granddaughter Mindy Lawson, brothers Sam Lawson, Jr. and Marshall Lawson, and sisters Joan Bradford, Billy Jean Cameresi and Shirley Sanders.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens in Lexington, VA.
