Ethel Marie Conner, 76, of Salisbury, died peacefully January 18, 2010 at Wicomico Nursing Home in Salisbury, where she had been wonderfully cared for since July 2008.

Born in Salisbury, Md. on April 6, 1933, she was a daughter of the late William Thomas Smullen and Virginia Long Smullen of Princess Anne.

She will be fondly remembered as having a gentle soul with a strong faith in the LORD and always having a smile for everyone.

She is survived by three daughters,; Virginia May Kelley of Salisbury, Elizabeth Lankford of Newport News, Va, Ethel Abbott of Crisfield and a son Roland "Bobby" Kelley of Florida; three sisters, Grace Perera of Glen Bernie, Virgie Woodcock and her husband Harry of Rochester, New York, Gladys Brock of Aberdeen, Md. and one brother, G. Richard Smullen of Houston, Texas and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Conner of Crisfield; three brothers, James Smullen of Baltimore, William H. Smullen, Sr. of Aberdeen and Marion F. Smullen of Salisbury.

A visitation will be held from 11 to 11:30 am on Saturday at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Following the visitation a graveside service will be held at noon at Smullen Cemetery on Saint Lukes Road in Fruitland. Gordon Mills, an elder of the Salisbury South Congregation of Jehovah's Witness will officiate.
