Obituary

Diane Beauchamp, 83, of Princess Anne, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 1, 2024.  Born on November 25, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Elkanah and Pauline (Wilson) Parks.

Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Laird of 25 years (1962-1987), and Norwood Beauchamp of 9 years (1994-2003); a brother Preston "Buster" Parks; sisters Rotha Parks and Ellen Dorsey; and brother-in-laws Woody Barnes and Bruce Webster.

After graduating from Washington High School in 1959, Diane went to work for C & P Telephone Company. Later, she would become a stay-at-home mom until going back to work for a period of time with Somerset County Public Schools.  Diane also worked for Somerset County Department of Social Services and retired in 2004.  She then did private sitting after retiring.

Diane was a member of St. Peter's Oriole Church in Oriole, MD where she taught Sunday School to the children for a number of years and served with the UMW.

Diane is survived by her sons, Robert "Bobby" Laird and wife Debbie; and William "Tommy" Laird and wife Lori; two special grandchildren, Catie Laird and Ethan Laird; two sisters, Debbie Barnes and Leah Webster; sister-in-law Libby Parks and brother-in-law Robert "Fish" Dorsey; several nieces and nephews; and two very close friends, Frieda Potter and Audrey Cornelius.

Heartfelt thanks are extended to Abby Webster and to the caregivers and staff at Alice B. Tawes Nursing Home.

Visitation will be held at Hinman Funeral Home on Sunday, December 8th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Peter's Oriole Church on Monday, December 9th at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery in Oriole.  Pastor David Webster will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Diane's memory to St. Peter's Oriole Church, c/o Vicki Laird, 28179 Venton Road, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
