Westover - Elisha W. Davis, Jr., 99, of here passed away on January 7, 2021 at The Anchorage Nursing Home, Salisbury, Md.
Born in Wauchula, Florida, on January11, 1921, he was the son of the late Elisha W. and Helen M. Davis.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Margaret Ann Davis; two children, Robert Scott Davis (Gail), and William Keith Davis (Pat); four grandchildren, Jenny Davis, Lauren Nuttle (Jon), Kolby Noble (Nathan), and Kortney Davis( Kearon); eight great grandchildren, Calvin, Owen, Kamryn, Kennedy, Jase, Rowan, Reid and Ava; three nephews ,J.R.Lloyd (Sue) , Chris Lloyd (Linda) and Dick Scott( Christy); and one niece, Anne Peacock (Greg) and numerous great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Elisha (Blackie) graduated from Wicomico Senior High School and enlisted in the Navy during World War II, serving as an airplane mechanic in the New Hebrides Islands. After the war he returned to Salisbury, Md. and joined the firm of Shore Distributors Inc. on July 31, 1947 where he served in several capacities until his retirement after February of 1986.
Upon retirement, he enjoyed travel with Margaret Ann, especially and repeatedly to Williamsburg, VA. He also played golf as well as following the Baltimore Orioles and various sports teams. He was a Master Mason in the Manokin Lodge, Princess Anne, Md.
He was a member of Antioch United Methodist Churchin Princess Anne, Md.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 15, 2022 with a visitation one hour before at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. in Princess Anne, Md.
