Edith Kathleen Nichols, 89 of here, formerly of Mt. Vernon died on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born on December 5, 1924 in Westover she was the daughter of the late Cecil Propst and Emma Benson Propst. Mrs. Nichols had been a teachers aide and was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon and the Ladies Auxilary of the Mt,. Vernon Fire Department.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth D. Nichols of Salisbury and four sons, Kenneth Nichols, Jr and his wife Terry of Hebron, Gregory Nichols and his wife Cyndee of Delmar, Md., Michael Nichols and his wife Kim of Hebron and Lt. Col. USAF, Ret. Clifton Kip Nichols and his wife Karen of Annapolis, six grandchildren, ten greatgrandchildren, her brother, Russell "Bunky" Propst of Easton and several nieces and nephews. Late brothers were Harold and Ernest Propst and a late sister was Eleanor Smith.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. The Rev. William Kniceley will officiate. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
