PRINCESS ANNE—Edgar F. "Ned" Brimer, Jr., 89 of here died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011 at Manokin Manor Nursing Home in Princess Anne. Born on Smith Island he was a son of the late Edgar F. Brimer and Gertrude Evans Brimer. Mr. Brimer was a waterman. A World War II Army Air Force Veteran, he was a member of OT Beauchamp Post 94 of the American Legion and Antioch United Methodist Church in Princess Anne and a former member of Princess Anne Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Helen Johnson Brimer, a daughter and son in law, Cheryl and Jimmy Nelson of Westover, a son and daughter in law, Eddie and Karen Brimer of Westover, four grandchildren, Casey Brimer and his wife Megan and Megan Brimer Aurelio and her husband BJ, Jamie Nelson and his wife Kelly and Jenna Nelson, six greatgrandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Late brothers and sisters were Raymond Evans, Anna Elizabeth Jones, Tolson Brimer, Preston Brimer and Gertrude Evans.
A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 6th at 1:00 PM at the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where friends may call one hour prior to service time. The Rev. Tom Blakelock will officiate. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
