PRINCESS ANNE - Edgar Nelson Brooks, Jr, 91 of here passed away on Monday September 26, 2022 at Coastal Hospice in Salsbury, MD.
Born in Baltimore, MD on August 25, 1931, he was son of the late Edgar and Rhoda (Bullock) Brooks. Nelson served in the US Army at Aberdeen Proving Ground during the Korean War before becoming the youngest elementary school principal at age 29 in Baltimore County MD in 1960. Both before and after retirement in 1985 Nelson enjoyed building homes and exploring the hidden byways and waterways with his wife and family throughout the Chesapeake Bay region.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years Fay Elena (Van Riper) Brooks in 2020, and is survived by his daughter Debbie (Ken) Couture of Salisbury, MD, son Kurt Nelson Brooks of Bowie, MD, and grandchildren Brooks Couture, Stephan Brooks and Genevieve Brooks.
