Salisbury – Eddie James Vance, 66, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Salisbury Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Salisbury, MD.

Born in Salisbury on January 12, 1957, he was the son of the late Percy and Rhoda (Shores) Vance. His grandparents were the late Eddie and Edith Lasker Shores, and James and Dora Vance.

Eddie had worked in retail for many years. First with WT Grant, then Kmart and lastly, Walmart. He was a member of St. John's UMC in Fruitland, MD.

Eddie was a kindhearted person who never knew a stranger. He spoke to everyone he met. Known to his brother as "Mr. Salisbury", he knew just about everything going on in town. He made many friends throughout his career. Eddie was a proud member of the Fruitland Lions Club, serving in all offices and spearheading many of their charitable activities.

He is survived by his brother, Rev. Dr. Rick Vance of Nashville, TN and aunt and uncle, Murray and Sylvia Shores of Salisbury, MD.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, MD where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Eddie's brother, Rev. Dr. Rick Vance will officiate.
