Douglas L. Smullen, 76 of here died on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born on June 4, 1938 in Worcester County, he was a son of the late Arthur Smullen and Opal Hopewell Smullen. Mr. Smullen was a beloved Father, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Brother. Mr. Smullen was a truck driver. He is survived by his Wife, Iris Lee Adkins Smullen, five children, Kathi Cottman and her husband, Jimmy of Princess Anne, Sharon "Sam" Hommel and her husband, Tim of Salisbury, David Hearn and his wife Cindy, Richard Hearn and his wife Bonnie, Kevin Smullen and Wilmer Smullen all of Princess Anne, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his Sisters, Gladys Malcom of Salisbury, Pauline Rogers of Snow Hill and Barbara Smart of Salisbury, a special Nephew , Jay Shores as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 12 Noon at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where friends may call from 11:00 to 12:00 PM. The Rev. Houston Hill will officiate. Interment will be in Olivet Christian Cemetery near Eden.
