Douglas L. Reading, 74, of Princess Anne, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at his home.

Born in Salisbury on June 17, 1951, he was raised in Princess Anne and was a son of the late Joseph and Betty Ellis Reading.

Doug was a life-long farmer. Over the years he farmed grain, poultry, cattle and produce. He was a member of the Maryland State Farm Bureau and received the Outstanding Conservation Farmer award in 2003.  Farming and family were his passions in life.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Nancy Pusey Reading of Princess Anne; son, Joseph Reading (Becky) of Princess Anne; step-children, Quintin Stone of Laurel, DE, Kim Hall (Mickey) of Princess Anne, and Dee Weitzel of Salisbury; his siblings, Lynn Messick of Hebron, Joseph "Buddy" Reading of Princess Anne, and Jay Reading (Margie) of Salisbury; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and his loyal riding companion and best friend, "Rufus".

A graveside funeral service and interment will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 1 PM at Allen Cemetery. Pastor Jamie DeVaughn will officiate.  All family and friends are welcome.
