Dorothy R. Townsend of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, October 4, 2015, at Salisbury Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Salisbury. . Born on August 5,1931, in Salisbury Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Hazel Riley. Dorothy worked as an Office Manager, for Powell Motors, Speakman, Comcast, Dr. Routenburg, and her last job was at Season's Best. Dorothy enjoyed working at the Junior Board Shop at PRMC, Camping, Shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, She loved the special times she had with her family and many friends that she thought of as family.
She leaves behind a son, Steven Townsend, Sr. and his wife Sandy, of Mt. Vernon, a Grandson Steven Townsend, Jr. and his wife Melanie, three Great-granddaughters, Sidney, Cloe, and Addison, and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents were her husband, Joseph Wesley Townsend, three brothers, Harold Riley, Ed Riley and Robert Riley, and one sister, Esther Mills.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, on Sunday, October 11, 2015, at 2:00 PM. Friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. Interment will follow the service in the Washington United Methodist Cemetery, in Shad Point. Rev. Sonny Benton will officiate.
