Salisbury - Dorothy Amelia Powell, 90, of here, formerly of Princess Anne passed away on Monday, Aug. 12, 2024, at the home of her daughter, and son in law, Dawn, and Scott Yackel of here.

Born in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John Hopkins and Rhoda Parks Hopkins.

Mrs. Powell was married to the late Robert "Bobby" Powell. Mrs. Powell was a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church in Salisbury and the Food and Commercial workers Union.

She is survived by Her Daughter, Dawn Yackel, and husband Scott of Salisbury, Two grandchildren, Jennifer Yackel and her husband Douglas Draper Jr of Salisbury and Scott Yackel, Jr, and wife Leigh Ann also of Salisbury, four great-grandchildren, Wyatt Draper, Ryder Yackel, Trystian Ting and Atreyu Ting.

Her two stepchildren are Judge Daniel Powell and his wife Christine of Princess Anne, and Elizabeth West of Florida

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 15, 2024 at 11:AM at Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00.

Interment will be in St. Andrews Episcopal Cemetery in Princess Anne. Rev. Wayne Holland will officiate.
