Dorothy "Dot" Hickman Rooks, 89, of here passed away at Tawes Nursing Facility on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 after a short illness. Born in Perryhawkin on February 12, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Hargis and Mamie (Dykes) Hickman.

Dot worked as a florist and was a member of Perryhawkin Church, Redmen's Tony Tank Tribe #149, Salisbury Moose Lodge, and the O.T. Beauchamp American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Eugene Logan, brothers Ken Hickman and Bill Culver, sisters Mary Culver, Louise Lipsett, and Katherine Wilson.

She is survived by her children, Tony Nichols (Jessica) and Mary Collier (Gary), sister Barb Hill, sisters-in-law Dorothy Culver and Jutta Hickman, grandchildren Kasi Boyles, Tommy Craige, Amber Majchrowicz, Zoey Nichols and Grace Nichols, great-grandchildren Finlay Boyles, Landon Craige, Xander and Addie Majchrowicz, step-children Nick Nichols, Rebecca Mayhew, two very special nieces, Kathy Renshaw and Lee Ann Hill, two very special nephews, Tanner Jones and Tom Wilson.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. in Princess Anne, MD where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Perryhawkin Cemetery. Pastor Ernie Evans will officiate.
