Obituary

Donald Ward Smullen, 88 of here died on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury. Born in Mt. Vernon, Somerset County, he was a son of the late Andrew J. Smullen and Dorothy W. Smullen. He was preceded in death by his brother Richard L. Smullen and a Sister, Annabell F. Smullen. He is survived by his Sister, Peggy L. Kerns of Salisbury and two Nieces and Two Nephews. Mr. Smullen had retired from The U.S. Postal Service in Baltimore where he worked for many years as a Postal Clerk, Personnel Clerk and a Examination Specialist. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Berlin and an avid Antique Dealer in Berlin since 1997, when he moved back to the Eastern Shore after living 55 years in and around Baltimore, Md. He was also a partner in Baltimore Antiques and Collectibles on East Lombard Street in Baltimore for several years.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 25th at 2:00 PM in Grace Episcopal Church Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Michael Moyer will officiate. Friends may call on Wednesday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne.
