Obituary

Princess Anne - Devynn Jordan Skinner passed away on September 2, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love. He was born on May 5, 1997, in Salisbury, Maryland, and spent much of his formative years in the close-knit community of Allen, Maryland.

Raised by his devoted mother, Lori Hancock, Devynn shared a home filled with warmth and laughter alongside his cousin Kaiya Skinner, his beloved grandmother Nancy Skinner, and his late grandfather Ronnie Skinner. The strong family bonds he formed during his childhood shaped the person he became.

Devynn was an accomplished athlete, graduating from James M. Bennett High School in 2015, where he earned his varsity letter in baseball. His passion for the sport propelled him to play college baseball at Chesapeake College before transferring to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. In 2020, he proudly graduated with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, a testament to his dedication and hard work. Devynn worked at the Eastern Correctional Facility but had plans to enter the Maryland State Police Academy in January of 2025.

Shortly after graduation, Devynn met the love of his life, Sidney Skinner. Their connection was profound, leading to a loving partnership that was filled with shared dreams and aspirations. They created a home filled with laughter, adventure, and mutual support. Together they built a beautiful life in Princess Anne with their beloved dog Axil. On August 17, 2024, they celebrated their love with a joyful wedding ceremony, surrounded by family and friends.

Devynn had a passion for life that was evident in his love for baseball, his enthusiasm for watching sports, and his enjoyment of outdoor activities such as fishing and hunting. He had a particular fondness for Maryland's famous crabs, often sharing meals and stories with loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife Sidney Skinner, his mother Lori Hancock, his grandmother Nancy Skinner, his cousin Kaiya Skinner, and a host of other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

To honor Devynn's remarkable life, a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 10th, at 1 PM at Emmanuel Wesleyan Church. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 11 AM to 1 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Devynn's memory to Every Kid Sports organization, supporting youth sports initiatives that reflect his passion for athletics and community involvement.
