Obituary

Denwood James Todd, 89, of Salisbury and formerly of Dames Quarter, passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional. He had been cared for at home for the past two years because of his declining health.
Born in Dames Quarter on December 13, 1931, he was a son of the late Denwood Handy Todd and Effie James Todd. He was preceded in death by his wives, Beatrice Todd and Connie Todd.
A US Navy veteran, he was a retired from the City of Salisbury and prior was an insurance salesman. He was a member of various veteran organizations and graciously donated to many charities.
Denwood loved the water and in his younger years he worked as a waterman. He enjoyed boating, fishing, oystering, going to horse races and spending time at his family home in Dames Quarter.
He is survived by his step-daughter, Chris Wolff/Warren of Captains Cove; step-grandchildren, Kevin Wolff and Todd Wolff/Olga; and devoted friends, Jill Bedsworth, Gerrie L. Bratten, and Ed Parsons.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Beatrice Todd and Connie Todd; and his brothers, William H. "Bill" Todd and Clifton Lee "Tunney" Todd.
Graveside Services with military honors will be held on Monday, November 8, 2021 at The Hodson White Family Cemetery in Dames Quarter at 1 PM. Rev. Steve Willing will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St.Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
