Mt. Vernon-Dennis J Mulcahy, 87, died Sunday April 17 th. a his home in Mt. Vernon. Born in Glen Mills , Pa. on Oct. 4, 1923, He was the son of the late Dennis and Violet Greenwood Mulcahy. Dennis married his wife Mollie Simpkins Mulcahy on June 16, 1946. He graduated from Washington High school in 1940, attended the U.S. Maritime Officers school in New London , Conn., and the Nordburg Diesel School in Milwaukee, Wis. He served in the U. S. Merchant Marine from 1941 to 1947 serving in the Atlantic, Pacific, and the Middle Eastern War Zones. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Coast Guard in 1945. He then worked for Sears & Roebuck in Washington D.C. and Salisbury for 28 years retiring in 1987. Dennis was a member of the Camp springs Masonic Lodge in Camp Springs, Md. and Manokin Lodge No 106 in Princess Anne. He was also a 32 nd. Degree Scottish Rite Mason., a member of the Manokin Order No 109 of the Eastern Star, Princess Anne, and a member of the Asbury Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon. Dennis enjoyed Bird watching, gardening, watching the Orioles and telling jokes.
He is survived by his wife Mollie, his sister in law, Lois W. Simpkins of Mt Vernon and Several nieces and nephews. His Late brother in law was William W. Simpkins.
