Debra May Cooper, of Salisbury, Md. died peacefully surrounded by her family on June 30, 2015. Debbie, as she is known to friends and family, was born in Baltimore on November 22, 1955 to Thomas Piercy and Florence Miller, both whom preceded her in death. Debbie was a graduate of Washington High School and was married to Raymond Abbott then later Perry Dennis Cooper, both of whom preceded her in death.
Debbie was employed by the Wicomico County Board of Education for 25 years and was last assigned to Pemberton Elementary School. Debbie enjoyed cooking and spending time with her friends and family, especially her two grandsons.
Debbie is survived by her daughters Michelle, Karen Briddell ( James and son Jimmy), Kimberly Widdowson ( Todd and son Logan), her brothers Bryan Piercy ( Lisa ), Jerry Piercy, Thomas Piercy, her sisters Theresa Cope ( Greg), Janet Welsh ( Robert), and nieces and nephews Daniel, Jennifer, Jacob, Jeremy, Hannah, Abigail, Kayla and Taylor.
A funeral service will be held at Hinman's Funeral Home in Princess Anne on July 5, 2015 at two o'clock, with a visitation for family and friends beginning at one o'clock. The interment will be at the Beechwood Cemetery immediately following the service. The family would like to thank her doctors, especially Dr. Douglas Wilhite, and the ICU/CTICU staff and nurses of PRMC for their care and compassion during Debbie's stay at PRMC. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to PRMC foundation in memory of Debbie Cooper.
