David A.
White

David went home, surrounded by family, on December 13th, 2018, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.
He was a loving and devoted son, father, brother, friend, and most importantly, man of God.
David was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to New Jersey shortly thereafter. He relocated to Oriole, MD in 1963. David graduated from Washington High School in 1968 and earned a bachelor's of science degree from the University of College Park and Salisbury State. He worked passionately with the Maryland. State Police for 20 years.
David also owned White's Market" for over 20 years. Better known as "White's" by many locals, the store was a beloved staple in the community.
David's other occupations included firearms instructor at Eastern Correctional Institution, instructor of officer stress management at Wor-Wic Community College, CPR instructor, and boat captain, supervisor, and researcher with the Department of Natural Resources located in Deal Island, MD.
David was a lay leader at both St. Peter's UMC and Trinity UMC.
David is preceded in death by his father and mother, Severn and Ruth White, niece Christi Blackburn, aunt and uncle Carroll and Evelyn Siegmund, and
his late wife, Suzanne White. He is survived by the mother of his children, Beverly White, daughter Tara Ford, her husband, Jamie Ford, and his
grandchildren Elise and Jose Ford, his daughter Hayley White, her fiancé Jeremy Perry, and his grandsons Ron Darling and Jude Perry, sister, Susan
Blackburn and her husband Danny Blackburn, nephew, Todd Blackburn, and his surrogate parents, the Rev. William and Jeanne Kniceley.
Funeral arrangements will be held at St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Oriole, MD, on Tuesday, December 18th. Visitors may arrive at 12 pm. The service will be held at 1pm with a meal at the church hall to follow. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in David's memory to St. Peter's UMC, C/O Vicky Laird, 28179 Venton Rd.
