Princess Anne - It is with incredible sadness and so much love that we announce that David Wayne Mitchell, Jr. passed away at his home on Friday, December 13, at the age of 55.

He will be forever mourned by his love of 37 years & wife for 26, Keri; his loving children David (Davy) and Kylie; his father, David Wayne Mitchell, Sr. (Mary Jane); siblings Lisa Aydelotte (Michael), Ashley Thomas (Jerry), Larry Dill (Chelsea), Roy Dill (Breanna) and  Christopher Ward; as well as loving mother and father-in law, sisters and brother-in law, 8 nieces and nephews, a grand-niece, and many aunts and uncles.

He was predeceased by his stepfather, Raymond Ward (Patricia); grandparents Frank and Myrtle Shortt, and Herman and Kathleen Mitchell, as well as several uncles.

David touched the lives of and remained close with so many he worked with throughout his years driving truck, building houses, and then restoring cars and trucks. He went out of his way to help everyone he knew – and even those he didn't know - in any way he could. He is fondly remembered by many in healthcare as the kind, funny, flattering, "handful" of a patient that always made them laugh and brightened their days.

A short service for family and close friends will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 20, at The Church of God of Prophecy, 208 Tilghman Rd., Salisbury.

A larger Celebration of Life will be planned for the spring to honor his passion for helping others and love of classic vehicles.

In lieu of flowers, his family asks you consider contributions to the American Heart Association or to his daughter's education fund.
