Obituary

David Allen Donohoe departed this life for his next adventure on April 16, 2026. He was born September 8, 1935 in Athol, Maryland to the late Brandon and Mary Lucille Donohoe. He is survived by his daughter Stacey Donohoe, son Todd Donohoe (Kimberly), grandson Lee Kelly, granddaughter Dayna Lively (Matthew), great grandchildren Cash Waterman and Dalaynie Hampton. Stepson Mark Somers (Barbara Jean), step grand children Nicholas Medline, Kyle Somers, Travis Somers, Lindsey Peek (Justin), Lauren Wilson. Step great grandchildren Emily Smith, Blake Lively, Dakota Peek, Haisley Somers, Miles Peek. Cherished cousin Tana Barnes (JB), sister Nancy Ashley, brothers in law Gary Bacon and Elwood Trader. Faithful friend Christopher Holland. Lifelong friends Jim and Connie Henderson and Paul and Anne Twining, Dunkin Donuts breakfast crew, numerous friends from United States Army days, Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Company, Shriners, American Legion, Ruritan, Jaycees, Manokin Masonic Lodge 106, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Scottish Rite Freemason.

He was a faithful member of Antioch Church with a wonderful church family. Last but certainly not least, his amazing team of caregivers that cared for him like he was family. Allowing him dignity and the ability to stay in the home he loved. Their kindness will never be forgotten.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Ginger, his second wife Dora Ellen, sisters Peggy Trader and Mary Lou Donohoe, half brother Brandon Donohoe, step mother Margaret Donohoe, in-laws Arthur and Kathryn Bacon, brother in law Winfred Ashley.

He traveled extensively throughout the United States, Europe and the Carribean Islands with a special love for Aruba. He was an avid fisherman with many "fish stories". Past President and Past Fire Chief of the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Company with over 60 years of service and former EMT. 60 year member of the Manokin Masonic Lodge 106, Past member of the Somerset County Board of Education, member of the Princess Anne Chamber of Commerce being instrumental in raising funds for the two Welcome to Princess Anne signs. He was a 4-H Marksmanship Instructor and member of the Manokin Gun Club.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00 P.M. on Monday, April 27, 2026 at the American Legion, 30782 West Post Office Road, Princess Anne, MD. Dress casual attire appreciated.
