Princess Anne – Dale Eugene Childers, Sr., 65, passed away on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Baltimore-Washington Hospital in Glen Burnie, Md.
Born in Maryland on May 17, 1953, he was the son of the late Marion and Evelyn (Jorden) Childers. His wife Vickie Childers passed away in 2003. Dale worked for the State of Maryland as a concrete truck driver. He loved to hunt, fish, and go crabbing. He raced at Dorsey Speedway in Hanover, Md.
He is survived by his children, Dale Childers, Jr. and his wife Rachel of Princess Anne, Md. and Christina Smoot and her husband Trent of Pasadena, Md., companion Robin Travis, grandchildren, Nicko, J.W., T.J., Travis and Layton, great granddaughter Jaylah and soon expecting a great grandson, Cody, goddaughter Kelly Childers, sisters Marcia (Chip) Wagner of Glen Burnie, Md. and Cheryl (Jeff) Wade of Severn, Md. and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Dale was preceded in death by brothers Wayne Childers and his wife Ann, and Vernon Childers and his wife Dottie.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Hinman Funeral Home P.A., 11673 Somerset Ave. Princess Anne, Md. with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Joe Kemper will officiate. Interment will follow at Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
