Princess Anne-Cynthia Elza, 63, of here died on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore with her family by her side. Born in Salisbury on November 27, 1950 she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Ada HornerKirwan. Her late husband was Floyd Elza. Cindy received a degree in Criminal Justice from Wor-Wic Tech Community College in Salisbury. She had been Assistant Warden at the Somerset Co. Detention Center and had retired from the Somerset Co. SheriffsDepartment in 2010. She loved to read and enjoyed helping others. She also loved her cats.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in law, Crystal and Kenny Webster of Pocomoke, her grandson, Aiden Webster, two sisters, Rachel Tuthill of Pocomoke and Georgia Colona of Salisbury, two brothers, Jeff Kirwan of Milford and Mike Kirwan of Salisbury, her companion Maurice Adkins, a lifelong friend, Sharon Collins and several nieces and nephews.
A late brother was Franklin Kirwan, and a late sister was Diane Bennett.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Donnie Bailey will officiate.
