Michigan – Connie Taylor Sode, born Connie Francis Taylor, passed away on May 2, 2020 from complications from ovarian cancer.
The only daughter of Eldridge Gwin "Tom" Taylor and Myrtle Taylor (nee Morgan), Connie was a real Deal Island girl in heart, mind, spirit, and love. Connie loved hard and cared deeply for family and friends. True to her roots, she did what was right and she did what needed doing. When duty called, she answered. When someone was hurt or in pain, she was there. A fresh breath of salt air who will be greatly missed by those who loved her. Our loss is Heaven's gain.
In 2001, Connie married her "Western Shore Boy", George Sode of Michigan (but born in Bethesda) at St. John's Methodist Church on Deal Island. Connie is survived by her loving husband, two brothers (William "Buddy" Hoyle of California and Jerry Taylor of Delaware), two grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Connie will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, September 25, 2021 at St. John's Methodist Church on Deal Island with burial immediately after.
