Obituary

Clinton Lee Hurley, Jr., 85 of Princess Anne died on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in Cokesbery near Pocomoke on October 19, 1930, he was a son of the late Clinton Lee Hurley, Sr. and Hattie Carter Hurley. Mr. Hurley, an agricultural mechanic, retired from the former Stevensons Equipment Company (now Atlantic Tractor) near Pocomoke. A US Army veteran, Mr. Hurley was a member of O.T. Beauchamp Post 94, of the American Legion in Princess Anne, Manokin Lodge No 106 AF & AM in Princess Anne, the Eastern Shore Shrine Club and Boumi Temple of the Shrine. As a shriner, Lee drove the Shriners Van and was responsible for transporting over 400 children to the Shriners Hospitals for Medical care. Mr. Hurley was a former member of Somerset Ruritan and the Jaycee's.
Lee is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shirley Jones Hurley, four brothers, Kenneth Hurley and his wife Rosalie of Salisbury, Richard Hurley and his wife Anne of Pocomoke City, George Hurley of Cokesbery, and Daniel Hurley and his wife Judy of Salisbury, two sisters, Connie Bozman and her husband Howard of Salisbury and Patsy Doyle and her husband, Robert of Salisbury., his sister in laws, Frances Thomas of Oriole and Eunice Lewis and her husband, Donald of Annapolis, and a son in law, Damon Prettyman of Princess Anne. Also survived by his grandchildren, Karen Briddell and her husband Jimmy, Kimberly Widdowson and her husband, Todd, Amie Phillips and Katie Lambertson, his greatgrandchildren, Jimmy, Logan, Julianna, Dylan, Adriana, and Ali. as well as several nieces and nephews and a special niece, Leeann Elmore. Preceding him in death was his daughter, Lori Prettyman, his son , Ray Abbott, a sister, Dorothy Bloxom and his daughter in law, Debbie Abbott Cooper.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. at the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne where Masonic Memorial services will be held. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. The Rev. Tina Whaley will officiate. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.
