Obituary

Salisbury - Clark Allen Bailey, 92, passed away at Coastal Hospice on the Lake, on August 8, 2024. Clark was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Born on April 9, 1932, in Princess Anne, MD to parents, Leo Adams Bailey & Sara Renshaw; he was raised by his maternal aunt and uncle, Philip Weiss Wolle & Ramona Renshaw.

Clark graduated from Washington High School in 1949 when high school went only to 11th grade. Following high school, he worked on the farm for Pete Smith until he enlisted in the Army from 1954 to 1956. After discharge he continued in service in the Army Reserves until 1963. Taking advantage of the GI Bill, Clark attended and graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in 1961 with a Bachelor of Accounting degree. He had a long career as a CPA and partner in the accounting firm of Faw, Casson & Co.

Clark was very active in the community throughout his life. He was a former President of the Blood Bank of the Eastern Shore. He served as Treasurer of the Alzheimer's Association Eastern Shore Chapter for 7 years and was a founding board member. Clark was also a Past President of the Salisbury Lions Club. He was a lifetime member of the Elks BPOE #817 and a member of the American Legion Post 94 for over 30 years. He was previously on the board of the Salisbury Substance Abuse Center. He was also a former member of the Beaver Run Ruritans.

He met his future wife, Doris Richardson, in 1956, and they married on March 11, 1961. They had two daughters, Lisa and Lori. Family meant everything to Clark. He enjoyed traveling, reading, and golf. Many memories were made camping, crabbing, vacationing at Myrtle Beach, and barbequing chicken.

Clark is proceeded in death by his siblings: James Sidney Bailey, Paula Idyolett Abresch, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Phenicie, Stuart Bailey, and Jeanne Nan Walter.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 63 years, Doris Richardson Bailey; daughters Lisa Bailey Hickman and Lori Renee Disney (Darren); grandchildren Gregory Alexander Hickman, Eric Michael Hickman, and Jordyn Renee Disney; and sister Kay Frances Bowers.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11 am at Hinman's Funeral Home, 11673 Somerset Ave, Princess Anne, MD 21853. Visitation begins at 10 am, an hour prior to service. Interment will immediately follow the service at Beechwood Memorial Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the American Legion Post 94.
