Obituary





Charles L. Muir, 75 of here died on Wenesday, Nov. 21st at home. Born in Oriole he was the son of the late Leland S. Muir and Ruth Pusey Muir. Mr. Muir was the Somerset County Treasurer. Mr. Muir was a Member of St. Andrews Epsicopal Church in Princess Anne where he served as a vestryman and member of the Finance Committee. A graduate of Salisbury State, Mr. Muir was a member of the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame and the Maryland State Softball Hall of Fame. Mr Muir had also played for the Orioles Minor League Team and was a former Club Champion at Nassawango, Great Hope, Salisbury Elks and Greenhill Golf and Ciountry Clubs Mr. Muir was a pilot and had flown for NASA and other Federal Security Agencies..
He coached Baseball, Softball and Golf at Salisbury University and served as an instructor to several female softball pitchers. Mr Muir provided flight instruction, golf lessons,and Baseball and softball pitching lessons and was a Math and Science Tutor to members of the community at no charge.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Cooling Muir of Princess Anne, A son. Gregory C. Muir of Virginia Beach, Virginis, three grandsons, Gregory Muir, Jr. Nicholas Muir and Sean Muir, a sister, Elaine Tawes of Oriole and three nephews and a niece.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 25th at 2:00 PM at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Princess Anne. The Rev. David Michaud will officiate. Friends may call Saturday Evening from 6:00 to 8:30 PM at the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Interment will be in St. Andrews Episcopal Cemetery in Princess Anne.
