Charles W. "Bill" Messick , 92 of here formerly of Westover died on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. Born on May 5, 1921 he was the son of the late Otis H. Messick and Eva Perdue Messick. His late wife was Rebecca S. "Becky" Messick. Mr. Messick was a World War II army veteran and had retired from C & P Telephone Company as a supervisor.
He is survived by a daughter, Eva (Eve) M. Kolodner of Bluffton, SC, two grandchildren, Linda Marie Kolodner and Ann Katherine Kolodner Chandler and a sister in law, Ruth Widdowson of Ocean Pines. A late sister was Elizabeth M. Sallac. Late half sisters were Joyce Delatte and Mickey Ann Malone.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Asbury United Methodist Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Olivia Costango will officiate.
