Princess Anne: Charles Samuel "Sam" Boston, Jr, 64 of here died Saturday, Oct. 9th at his home here. Born in Salisbury , he was a son of the late Charles Samuel Boston, Sr. and Marie Barnes Boston. A 1964 graduate of Washington High School in Princess Anne, Mr. Boston had attended The University of Maryland at College Park. After serving in the US Navy from 1965 to 1969, Mr. Boston worked for Verizon retiring after 32 years of service. Mr. Boston was a retired Somerset County Administrator serving as a County Commissioner from 2002 to 2009. He was President of the Commissioners from 2002 to 2007 and served as County Administrator from 2009 to 2010.

Mr. Boston also served as Past President of the Princess Anne Volunteer Fire Company and was a Past President of the Princess Anne Lions Club . His memberships included St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Princess Anne where he had served as a vestry member, OT Beauchamp Post No 94 of the American Legion, Princess Anne, the Crisfield Elks Lodge, Salisbury Moose Lodge, The Somerset County Farm Bureau, and was a Past board Member of the Maryland Association of Counties and a past member of the Tri-County Council. Sam was an avid golfer.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca Simpkins Boston, Two children, Jessica Boston and her friend Chris Wack of Baltimore and Dana Boston and his friend, April Dearing of Princess Anne, A Brother, Jerry Boston and his wife Connie of Princess Anne, a close brother in law, kirk G. Simpkins and his wife Rochelle of Princess Anne and 1 Niece and Five Nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 12th at 2:00 PM atSt Andrews Episcopal Church in Princess Anne. The Rev . David Michaud will officiate. Interment will be in Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne. Friends may call Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne. Donations may be made to St. Andrews Episcopal Church , 30513 Washington Street, Princess Anne, Md. 21853 or to Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K Street NW, Suite 500, Washington, DC. 20005.
