Catherine Horner Benton, 81 died on Friday, July 10, 2015, at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin in Princess Anne. Born on Dec. 18, 1933 in Tyrone, PA., she was a daughter of the late James T. Ryan, Sr. and Amber Freida Lykens Ryan,. Mrs. Benton was a homemaker and Medical Secretary. Her late husbands were, Walton Benjamin Horner, Jr. and John "Jack" Alexander Benton.
Mrs. Benton is survived by two children, Stanley Thomas Horner and his wife, Karen of Chance and Carol Louise Price and her husband, Robert Lee of Princess Anne, four stepchildren, Michael Benton and his wife Valarie of Milford, DE., Debra Richardson and her husband Danny of Eden, Cindy Nelson and her husband John of Crisfield and Jack Benton and his wife Johanna of Delaware. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Danielle Nicole Ring and Nicholas Price, a sister Mary Ann Boyne of Lockport, New York and her best friend, Emily Fonte and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her husbands were a daughter Mary Ellen Ring and two brothers, James T. Ryan, Jr. and John Ryan.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 14th. at 2:00 PM. in the Hinman Funeral Home in Princess Anne, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service in St. Paul's Cemetery in Wenona. Rev. David Webster will officiate.
