Carolyn Jean Laffey, RN, age 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Nanticoke, Maryland surrounded by family and friends on June 30, 2021. She was born on April 19, 1949 to John Richard Tweddle and Bernice Winter Tweddle in Pine Bush, New York. She worked for many years as a Registered Nurse in hospitals in New York and Maryland and ultimately in practice with her husband in the community of Nanticoke.
She is survived by her husband of forty-one years, Stephen Laffey, MD, by sisters Shirley Cliff and Joan Duffy and brother John Tweddle. She was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt Jean Lankford and her only son Denis Craig Terwilliger.
Carolyn will be remembered by her many close friends in her church and community for her loving nature and her passion for justice.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
