Hinman Aurelio
January 15, 1945 – May 13, 2025
Salisbury – Carolyn Lee Hinman Aurelio, 80, went to be with her Lord on May 13, 2025. She was born in Norfolk, VA on January 15, 1945. She was the daughter of the late James Lee Hinman, Sr., and Edna Erlene Midgett Hinman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert Lee Taylor, and brother James L. Hinman, Jr.
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by Jimmy Aurelio, her husband of 59 ½ years and by family and friends.
Carolyn grew up in Crisfield and Princess Anne, MD. She attended Washington High School. After traveling around with the Navy, Jimmy retired and they settled in Salisbury, MD. Carolyn worked at Coca- Cola Co., the Wicomico County Free Library and Eastern Shore Regional Library. Carolyn loved learning new things and graduated from Wor-Wic Community College with Honors and later retired from Wicomico County Social Services. She continued taking courses throughout her life.
She loved and was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Through the years she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Women Ministries Director, teller, and church librarian. She faithfully supported missions and always prayed for them. Carolyn loved her family and friends. She had a passion for sending cards, letters and making calls to those who were sick or hurting. She loved reading and sitting on her porch. Carolyn loved all of God's creations, especially butterflies and birds. Crafting was another hobby. She knitted hats and throws for cancer patients and the homeless.
Carolyn and Jimmy loved traveling, walking nature trails, and visiting museums. She also loved scrapbooking their trips.
She is survived by her aunt, Shirley Weeks, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the entire team at Coastal Hospice. Their kindness and compassion were greatly appreciated during their visits.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, May 23, 2025 at Beechwood Cemetery. Rev. Andrew Morgan and Rev. Frank Jennings will officiate.
