Salisbury - Betty Lou Tawes, 81, of Salisbury, MD, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2020 at her home. She loved simple things, cats, vacationing in Hawaii, fishing, crocheting, cooking and being with family and friends. She retired from Holly Center in Salisbury.
She was a loving wife for 65 years and is survived by her husband, Larry Tawes, Sr., a daughter, Ellen Mae Messick (Newell), sons Larry Tawes, Jr. (Tina Louise), and David Tawes, sisters Marion Marsh, Alice Steele, and Barbara Carey, a brother, Denny Murray, six grandchildren, Erich Hupke, Jr., Sean Hupke, Aaron Hupke, Jaclyn Tawes, Larry Tawes III, Jessica Tawes, and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Murray, father Austin Murray, a brother George Murray and her youngest son, Walton Tawes.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday December 22, 2020 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. 11673 Somerset Ave Princess Anne, MD 21853 where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. David Webster will officiate. Interment will follow in Wicomico Memorial Park, 721 Snow Hill Rd. in Salisbury, MD 21804
