Perryhawkin – Bettie M. Long, 84, of here passed away on Friday, July 6, 2018 at her home.
Born July 25, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Elton W. and Nellie (Taylor) Marriner. Bettie was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for E.S. Adkins Building Supply Co. in Pocomoke City, Md. and was a member of the Perryhawkin Christian Church. She was an avid animal lover.
She is survived by brother in law Ronnie Long and his wife June of Snow Hill, Md., nieces Becky Jones and her husband Lewis of Newark, Md., Patsy Green and her husband Melvin of Salisbury, Md. and Robyn Donoway and her husband Wally, also of Newark, Md., nephew Wayne Long of Fruitland, Md., and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Bobby" Long, son Barry Long, brother Robert Butler and brother in law Curtis Long.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 13, 2018 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. in Princess Anne, Md. Friends may call on Thursday, July 12, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Perryhawkin Christian Church Cemetery near Princess Anne. Rev. Jeff Coalter will officiate.
