Princess Anne – Barbara Ellen Brittingham Widdowson, 80, of here passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Hartley Hall Nursing Home in Pocomoke, Md.
Born April 1, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Lillian (Green) Brittingham and grew up in Cokesbury. Barbara retired from the Somerset County Public School system as a Hearing and Vision Technician and part owner with her husband and family of Widdowson Farms. She loved shopping with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, loved being "Nana", spending time cooking for her family during the holidays and family time was most important to her. Barbara also loved giving to the children at Christmas. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Princess Anne where she taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Somerset County Development Center Board of Directors, Somerset County Fair Board of Directors, and a member of the Business and Professional Women of Somerset County.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 62 years, Carl Widdowson, daughter Vicki McLeod and her husband Denny and son Wayne Widdowson and his wife Leigh Anne, all of Princess Anne. Grandchildren Carli and Jason Beauchamp of Fruitland, Dustin and Megan McLeod of Parsonsburg, Kasey Widdowson and her fiancé' Cameron Gardner of Salisbury, Morgan Widdowson of Princess Anne, Great grandchildren Averi, Siena and Lennon Beauchamp and Gavin and Easton McLeod, and brother Vaden Brittingham and his wife Fay of Pocomoke.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A., 11673 Somerset Ave. in Princess Anne, Md. where friends may call from 12-2:00 P.M. Her son in law, Rev. Denny McLeod will officiate. Interment will follow at St. Andrews Episcopal Cemetery.
