Obituary

Deal Island – Albert (Al) Melvin Brown, 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 21, 2021 following a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He fought the good fight, the battle is won.
Born on January 16, 1936, he was the son of the late Henry G. Brown and Marie Collier Brown.
Al was a graduate of the Deal Island High School "Class of 55". The day after graduation he went to work for Chris Craft for 15 years until they closed. He was then employed by Perdue for 12 years. Al's final and favorite job was at Scotts Cove Marina where he was back home with his waterman friends.
Al will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his love of photography. He took great pride in his photo albums and sharing them with his family and friends.
Al is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Nancy Twigg Brown, five daughters, Edna (David) Hollister, Pamela (Sergio) Ramos, Cindy (Jerry) Downes, Laurie (Wayne Fink) Fischer, Angela Brown, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, Brother Lionel (Vicky) Brown and their son Robbie and his sister's children, Walter, Janice and Chris Bozman and other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Brown Bozman, grandsons Douglas Fischer, Jonathan Horseman and Solomon Horseman, and great granddaughters Alana Horseman and Isabella Livingston, great grandson T.J. Johnson and nephew Johnny (Dzhon) Brown.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at the Deal Island Church by the Bay (at the foot of the Deal Island Bridge). Due to Covid restrictions, please remain in your cars and tune your radio to 91.1. The service will also be virtual. Officiating will be Rev. David Webster and Rev. Barry Groh. A private interment will follow the service at St. Paul's UMC Cemetery in Wenona. John 14:6 Jesus said "I am the way, the truth and the light. No one comes to the Father except through me".
