PRINCESS ANNE—Adrian "Nick" Bozman, died July 30 , 2011 at his home in Princess Anne. Born Dec. 19, 1929 in Oriole, Md., He was the son of the late Thomas Adrian and Anna Bennett Bozman. "Nick" graduated from Washington High School in 1946, and began his working career working at Lee L. Hayman Hardware, in Princess Anne. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1948 to 1949. "Nick" then worked for Delmarva Power, and the Protane Propane Gas Company. Mr. Bozman also farmed with his father and great-uncle, and was employed with Dresser Industries also known as Wayne Pump retiring in 1972. He then went to work for Perdue, He ended his working career working for the Somerset Co. Board of Education again retiring in May of 1992.
"Nick was a member of Winter Quarters Golf Course and played with the Seniors and the Bandits. In 2005 he was inducted into the Eastern Shore Baseball Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Eastern Shore Baseball Foundation Incorporated. He was member of the Princess Anne Lions Club since 1995. Serving as President in 2001 to 2002, He also served on the Board of Directors in 2008-2009 and Received the Melvin Jones Fellow Award in June 2005. He was a member of the USS. Palau Veteran Ass. , the Upper Somerset AARP # 4650. An Active member of St. Peters United Methodist Church in Oriole he served as President of the Cemetery Committee, a Trustee, and , a member of the U. Meth. Men and as the Fix-it man for the church, taking care of any and all repairs., "Nick" was also a member of Great Hope Golf Course in Westover where he played golf socially and in his honor the Lions Club named their annual trophy "The Nick Bozman Trophy"Nick and his team won the tournament three years in a row.
He is survived by two daughters, Vicki Rhodes, of Church Hill, Md. and Dee Walls and her husband Steve, of Centreville, Md., two grandchildren, Thomas Rhodes and Zachary Walls., a sister, Linda Huber and her husband George of The Villages, Florida., and a very special friend Yvonne Smith of Tangier Island, Va. His Wife , Julia Thomas Bozman preceded him in death on July 10,1977.
A Funeral service will be held at Thursday at 11:00 am in the Hinman Funeral Home, Princess Anne, Md. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6:00 tO 8:00 pm. and1 hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will follow the service in the St. Peters United Methodist Cemetery in Oriole. The Rev. Sally Stewart and Rev. Bill Sterling will officiate.
