Elizabeth B. Anderson

Princess Anne – Elizabeth Blalock Anderson, 82, of Princess Anne, Maryland passed away peacefully on April 16, 2022, surrounded by her family. Betsy, as she was known, was born to Howard and Elsie Anderson on November 21, 1939 in Baltimore Maryland.

She grew up in Princess Anne Maryland.

Betsy was predeceased in death by Elsie B. Anderson, Howard H. Anderson, and Mary Wimberly Franz. She is survived by William and Shirley Anderson and Jane West.

Betsy graduated from Washington High School in 1957 and Maryland State Teachers College in 1961. She pursued and was awarded a degree in elementary education. She taught school in Wicomico, Cecil, and Somerset Counties.

Betsy was passionate about doing crossword puzzles. She was an excellent needle worker, creating many needlepoint pieces for family and friends. She loved baking and was known for her scrumptious pound cakes. She also enjoyed eating seafood, college basketball, and going to the beach.

Betsy was a caring and lovable woman who, throughout her lifetime, devoted herself to her church, St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church and the people around her. She was an integral part of the church, serving as Registrar for Vestry. Youth Group Leader and Bible Study Teacher. As a member of the church from a very young age, Betsy participated in St. Martha’s Guild, the Annual Church Bazaar, and Vacation Bible School. Betsy was a loyal servant to God.

Betsy requested a private celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. Memorial Donations may be made in Betsy Anderson’s name to St. Mary the Virgin Episcopal Church, P. O. Box 383, Pocomoke, Maryland 21851.
