Mary Ann Layfield

Mary Ann Layfield, 78 of Princess Anne went to be with Lord on Sunday, November 18, 2018

Born on September 30, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William & Helen (Baker) Campbell Sr. Her husband of over 40 years; Reginald “Reggie” Morris Layfield also preceded her in death in 2013.

Mary Ann was a secretary for the Soil Conservation Agency and former teacher of Somerset County. She loved to cook and entertain for her family and friends and play the slots. She had served her community thru many organizations, including the Elks Lodge, Ruritan, on the board of the Women of the Moose,VFW Ladies Auxiliary, American Legion and a member of Antioch Methodist Church in Princess Anne, Md. . She loved all of her family and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brother William Campbell, Jr., and sister Dorothy Jean Bromley.

She is survived  by two daughters, Susan Dawn Heath Adams and her husband Ralph Clinton Price of Savannah, GA, and Sandy Robin Heath Webster Edelen and her fiancé’ Mark Steiger also of Savannah, GA., grandchildren, Amanda Sue Rygiel, Ashley Nicole Peters, Robyn Susanne Adams, and Sean Charles Adams, great grandchildren Ryland J. and Lillian S. Rygiel, niece Nancy Jean Dize, and nephew John Bromley. The family is so grateful for the love and care of Scott Ennis, Thom Campbell, and Heather Norfolk.

A funeral will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 23, 2018 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. 11673 Somerset Ave., Princess Anne, Md. where friends may call from 12:30-2:00 P.M. Roger Smith will officiate and interment will follow in Allen Cemetery.
