Peggy Jean Sharpless

Peggy Jean Sharpless, 84, of Princess Anne,  passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin in Princess Anne, Md.

Born in Somerset County on October 22, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Florence White. Peggy Jean was a homemaker. She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church, AARP, and former member of the Princess Anne Lioness Club.

She is survived by her children, Sherree Marshall of Crisfield and Jeffrey W. Sharpless (Traci Young) of Princess Anne, grandchildren Erin (Jeff) Cuff, Heather (William) Tyler, great grandchildren Alex, Jeffrey, Peyton, James and Layla, sister in law Dee White,  as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Juke Sharpless, a brother Larry White, and son in law Steve Marshall, brother in law William Sharpless and sister in law Margaret Ann Sharpless.

A funeral service is scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 12, 2018 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A. in Princess Anne, Md. A viewing and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Bonnie Stone will officiate. Interment will be at Beechwood Cemetery in Princess Anne.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Antioch United Methodist Church, 11656 Somerset Ave., Princess Anne, Md. 21853 or The Somerset County Commission on Aging, 8928 Sign Post Rd., Westover, Md. 21871.

    I am a patient at Aurora Senior Living of Manokin your mom was a great person she met so much to me and I will really miss her. She used to help me cut up many coupons that I sent overseas to support our troops with her help I was able to send out around 1500 hundred- 2000 thousand coupons a month.She shared many stories about her life and miss seeing her at her dining space.
