Rev. Charles Lindbergh Adams

Charles Lindbergh Adams, 90, of Wenona, Maryland, died on December 27, 2017 in Crisfield following a lengthy illness. He was the son of Cleveland and Ina Adams; husband of Juanita Webster Adams for 70 years; and father of Irene Brownlee (David) of Carolina Beach, NC; Mary Clark of Chincoteague, VA; Carol Smith (Doug) of Glens Falls, NY; and Crystal Willing (Steve) of Marion Station, MD. His grandchildren are Kayde Brownlee; Jay Cannon, Joshua, and Julie Clark; Shannell Robbins; and Kyle, Luke, and Kayla Willing. His great-grandchildren are Tyler Brownlee and Lukas Robbins. Charles’ six siblings preceded him in death. He is survived by two sisters-in-law,  Alverta Hoffman and Janice Webster Webb, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The words of Simeon in Luke’s Gospel express the family’s gratitude and blessing: “Lord, now let your servant depart in peace, according to your word; for my eyes have seen your salvation”.

Rev. Adams served as a Wesleyan Church minister in the following congregations: Mardela Springs, MD; Oxford, MD; Bingen, PA; Washington, PA; Shippensburg, PA, Milton, DE; Rochester, PA; Glens Falls, NY; and Julian, PA. Following retirement to Wenona, Rev. Adams served in ministry capacities in the Wenona churches of Faith Independent and St. Paul’s UMC, and was a Spiritual Director in the VA Eastern Shore Emmaus Community. As a young adult, Rev. Adams was a waterman and Seaman Second Class, U.S. Naval Service, stationed in Norfolk, VA.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Wenona, Md.

Friends may call from 6:00 P.M – 8:00 P.M. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Hinman Funeral Home, P.A., 11673 Somerset Ave., Princess Anne, Md. 21853 and again one hour prior to the service on Sunday. Interment will follow the service in the church cemetery.
